Pai-Gow: The Game Of Love and Hate
For some reason I keep trying to like this game, but I do not think it will happen soon. The game I am talking about is Pai-Gow Poker. In collaboration of an ancient Chinese game and American poker, Pai-Gow Poker was born.
The traditional game Pai-Gow is played with tiles similar to domino’s. An American version of this game was introduced using playing cards and the ranking of poker hands.
A player can only play one position at a time.
The wagers are $1.00 to $300.00. The player places the bets in the numbered circle. The number represents their place in the deal. Once the player has placed their bets, they press deal. The dealer and the player both receive seven cards.
The player must spilt their cards into two hands, a 5-card high hand and a 2-card low hand. High is represents the highest hand on the board, while the low hand is the 2nd highest hand.
The player can choose the house way button. The house way button is the casinos best recommendation for the player to split. The object is to beat the dealer’s hands. If the player wins both hands they win even money.
When the hands are spilt, one winning hand for the player and one for the dealer, the players bet is returned. There are jokers in play. The joker is not a wild card. It can only be used to complete a straight, flush, or straight flush, and is otherwise treated as ace.
The dealer always seems to have a hand and the payouts really are not all that great. It is fun learning a new game and I think that is what always brings me back. Come and play, you will understand the intrigue and frustration all at once!
